We, Phil and Jo James, took over the reins from Cherry and Andrew in 2007.

We met while in the Wine Trade and developed a lasting love of Epicurism (and each other).

With two young children, we wanted a store in a rural setting. We also wanted one that could supply good food ingredients for people who liked good food. We found Ludwell.

A friendlier place on Earth would be hard to find, a foodier place nigh impossible. We relish the tasks set by our customers - to find them the ingredients they crave. We love to please.

We have over 160 suppliers we can call on to help us. And we can always find a new source when required. We really do love to please.

And that's why we do it! We love to be of service, we really do.

Although, of course, we are committed to providing a customer experience that recognises the place of the producer, retailer and customer within the environment, we are also committed to providing you with what you want - the ingredients for making lovely food.

We love local food and we love local producers, but we also love Vegemite, Lerida Figs and Madagascan Vanilla.
